Care for Your Garment

Every Viridara garment is created with natural fibres, botanical prints and carefully considered craftsmanship. Like the materials from which they are made, these pieces are designed to age gracefully with thoughtful care.

Natural fabrics evolve over time. Small changes in texture, softness and colour are part of their character and should be embraced as signs of a garment that has been truly lived in.

With a little attention, your Viridara piece can accompany you for many seasons to come.

Washing

Whenever possible, wash your garment only when necessary. Airing it between wears is often enough to refresh natural fibres.

When washing is needed:

  • Wash at 30°C or below.
  • Choose a gentle or delicate cycle.
  • Use a mild detergent free from bleach or harsh chemicals.
  • Wash with similar colours.
  • Turn garments inside out before washing whenever appropriate.

For particularly delicate pieces or garments with extensive botanical printing, professional dry cleaning may be recommended if indicated on the care label.

Drying

Natural fibres benefit from gentle drying.

  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Reshape the garment while damp.
  • Dry flat or hang in the shade whenever possible.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may gradually soften naturally dyed colours.
Ironing & Steaming

A steamer is the gentlest way to remove wrinkles from natural fabrics.

If ironing is preferred:

  • Use a low to medium temperature appropriate for the fabric.
  • Iron on the reverse side whenever possible.
  • Avoid prolonged direct heat on botanical prints and naturally dyed areas.
Caring for Natural Dyes & Botanical Prints

Many Viridara garments are created using botanical eco-printing and natural dyeing techniques.

Because these processes rely on real plants, minerals and natural pigments, each garment carries subtle variations that make it uniquely yours.

Over time, gentle shifts in colour may naturally occur, particularly with frequent washing or prolonged exposure to sunlight. This gradual evolution is part of the beauty of working with materials derived from nature.

To help preserve botanical colours:

  • avoid bleach and optical brighteners;
  • avoid harsh stain removers;
  • do not soak garments for extended periods;
  • keep away from highly acidic or alkaline substances whenever possible.
Storage

Natural fibres appreciate space to breathe.

We recommend storing your garments:

  • in a cool, dry place;
  • away from prolonged direct sunlight;
  • on padded hangers for structured garments;
  • neatly folded for heavier knitwear or delicate pieces that may stretch.

Avoid storing garments in plastic bags for long periods, as natural fibres benefit from airflow.

Small Imperfections

No two Viridara garments are ever exactly alike.

Slight variations in colour, botanical print placement, texture, weave or hand-finished details are natural characteristics of our production process. These differences reflect the individuality of each garment and should not be considered defects.

We believe that beauty lies in the quiet irregularities left by nature and the human hand.

A Garment Made to Last

The most sustainable garment is the one that is worn, cared for and loved for many years.

By choosing natural materials and caring for them thoughtfully, you help extend the life of your garment while reducing its environmental impact.

Thank you for becoming part of Viridara's slower way of dressing.
